The flow ain't too bad, but why are you gonna do this knowing well that people are gonna trip off it?
Here's what Shaq had to say:
"I was freestyling. That's all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever. That is what emcees do. They freestyle when called upon. I'm totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all. And by the way, don't forget, six albums, two platinum, two gold. Anybody who knows me knows I'm a funny freestyler. Check the NBA DVD when I was wrapping about Vlade Divac during my first championship run. Please tell everybody don't make something out of nothing." ~shaking my head~
I don't know why I didn't post this earlier but here it is. This is one of the best videos I've seen in a while, probably because Hype Williams directed it. I'm not too crazy about the track though, actually I take it back. The track ain't half bad.
David Fincher is one of my favorite directors and Brad Pitt is one of my favorite actors. The two have worked together in Se7en and Fight Club, two of my favorite movies. Whenever these two hook up, something crucial results. This is the trailer to their third film together, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and by the looks of it, it could be something epic.
I'm not going to front. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to this album with the exception of a few cuts. But I am going to get to this though. For those that haven't gotten to this album as well, here it is.
I posted Jamiroquai's A Funk Odyssey a while back. For those that enjoyed that album I come back with another! I too would like to thank my parents on this one. I remember hearing this schitt almost 11 years ago and have been a fan ever since. The video above is on some other schitt, and is considered to be one of the best music videos of all time. Peep the vid, download the album, and most of all...well...you know.
I had a chat with staff member L.A. Phil and we agreed that we were trying a little too hard in being the 2DopeBoyz and NahRights of the rap-blogging-internet world, straying away from what we do best, hooking you guys up with the fresh schitt that gets overlooked and exposing you to new, different, and overall great quality music. Which leads me to this album. My parents would play this all the time and I greatly thank them for this. Hope you feel the same after you download and listen to the album.
So I hope y'all aren't tired of Lil' Wayne cuz I'm not. Us Lil' Wayne fans always need more. So here is an unreleased song. It's the Mr. Carter joint wit Jay-Z. I personally like the original better but new verses are always appreciated. Peep.
So my summer vacation has finally begun. I have to admit though that the feeling is rather bittersweet since I have to depart from life out in Pomona. But I welcome the summer vacation with open arms. Excuse the lack of posts from me. Been busy with finals and moving out my schitt back home. Anyways, I'm on my smooth soulful tip so I figured I'd hook you up with this classic.
I didn't even know there was a video for this. One of my all-time favorite hip hop tracks. Dope beat, dope lyrics, and have you ever heard Nas sing on a hook? Notice the schitt is being shown on Rap City. Damn BET has fallen off so hard.
This dude here has some real skills. His lyrics on this track are ridiculous. Oh and if you're not persuaded enough to listen to it....at least listen to the dope 9th Wonder beat. All in all a great song that happens to be very true.
Little Brother came out with a mixtape about a year ago with DJ Mick Boogie yelling all over it. This year the mixtape is being re-released without the tags and a few new tracks added. Little Brother - And Justus For All
Here's one track that you won't find unless you want the iTunes version:
I hooked you up last Friday with Bishop Lamont's latest mixtape, The Confessional. The tape was to be released on the internet officially but was leaked late that night. The following is a statement from Lamont's label Diocese:
“The version of ‘The Confessional’ that leaked onto the internet is an incomplete project with an incomplete tracklisting. DJ Strong was told specifically that he could not be a part of this project, and then, to spite us, he released it online anyway with his DJ tags all over it."
So Bishop along with some homies decide to pay the dude for a visit. Check what happens:
So my bad for the bootleg. I know the official version with no tags will more than make up for it. Download the mixtape. Watch the video. And most of all....
Every since that epic CaLTROiT mixtape Bishop Lamont has been one of my favorite artist of today. Saw a recent video of him saying that his debut album, The Reformation is done and needs to be mixed and mastered. Until then we have this new mixtape to hold us over.
A friend of mine let me borrow this album a while back and it was in non-stop rotation. While it may not be considered better than their first, this is my favorite album from the legendary clan. The production from RZA is on point and everyone else brought the pain hardcore from the brain with their lyrics. Also what's interesting about this album is that it is the last Wu-Tang album to feature Ol' Dirty Bastard. He didn't appear at all in Iron Flag and had already passed when 8 Diagrams came out. RIP ODB.
Who would of thought the "Auto Tuner King/Im Sprung/1 Hit Wonder" would of made it this far. (I Did) Well the fact is he did make it this far and now he might be on a new Michael Jackson track. Now this track is just a reference track for the King. Meaning that the breaks in the song is where Michael would put his vocals in.
Congrats - Now when the real song comes out you can brag about how you got the rough, non-mixed version.
and for your audio-visual pleasure... This duo had a classic movie called Class Act, which i honestly thought was waaaay better than House Party. Watch it 4 yourself if you can find it....ur local blockbuster mite not be up on this classic shit...lol
Now Im not sure bout yall, but i think the West Coast is really comin back. Just cuz you dont hear these artist on the radio dosen't mean the Left Coast aint producing -ahem- Sir T.
Now this dude is reppin Carson, California and is signed to Young Jeezy's label -CTE- Now any dude that can get signed to someone as big as Jeezy, off of "1 freestyle" is definetely worth a listen to me. The best Mixtape's are the one's where the artist makes it like its his own album. This is it right here. Peep
Ok I know this site is supposed to be for that heatrock music and news but this dude right here is ridiculously trash. He is so garbage its fukkin funny. I cant even see the break from talking, to rappin'. So look at this post as comedy. Not Music.
I'm sittin' here lookin over our site and I feel like slapping myself for not postin' this for y'all. New Nas....album title N.I.G.G.E.R.....or at least it was...You already know controversy up the ass.....but God's Son rarely disappoints....this aint 1 of those times either.
Well im hoping yall didnt miss this album cuz its the shit. But since their not mainstream you prolly did. These dudes are on some political, revolutionary shit. Lyrically they are the bizness. This album definitely needs to be in your library, so DOWNLOAD it. If you dont, you prolly dont need to be on this site. Leave. And major props, mad props, fucking crucial props to "SIR T" for putting me on these dudes in high school. Good Look
